Turkish Airlines is making a noticeable change to its 2026 network, and the main thing travelers need right now is the actual list, not guesswork. The latest schedule update shows several international destinations being removed from future service plans from May and June 2026.
Some cuts last through October 24, 2026, while others are listed through March 27, 2027. AeroRoutes reported that these changes were filed in Turkish Airlines’ schedule update for the Northern summer 2026 season and selected winter 2026/27 plans.
There is one important point to keep clear. Turkish Airlines has not publicly given a full reason for these route removals in the schedule filing. So, any claim about why this is happening should be treated carefully. The confirmed part is the schedule change itself and the destinations now affected.
The Confirmed Suspension List
The 18 international destinations listed in the latest schedule update are Aqaba, Billund, Bissau, Ferghana, Freetown, Havana, Hurghada, Juba, Kinshasa, Kirkuk, Leipzig/Halle, Libreville, Luanda, Lusaka, Monrovia, Najaf, Pointe Noire, and Turkistan.
These are not all the same type of route cut. Some cities were planned to return, but have now been removed from the summer schedule. Some were served as part of longer routes through another city. Others had a final listed flight date before the service disappeared from the schedule.
The Routes With October 2026 Dates
Several removals are listed as being in effect until October 24, 2026. Monrovia was planned for twice-weekly service from May 11, 2026, through Istanbul and Accra, but that Monrovia service is now canceled, while Accra remains unchanged.
Aqaba’s planned return from June 1, 2026, has also been canceled for the summer season, while Amman’s nonstop service remains unchanged.
Juba’s planned return from May 2, 2026, has been removed, with Asmara becoming the endpoint. Bissau’s planned twice-weekly service from June 8, 2026, through Dakar is canceled, while Dakar service remains unchanged.
Lusaka’s last listed flight is May 10, 2026, and Dar es Salaam remains unchanged.
Havana’s planned June 3 return has been removed, with the cancellation extended to October 24, 2026. Hurghada has a last listed flight date of June 2, 2026.
The circular services involving Kinshasa, Luanda, Libreville, and Pointe Noire are also removed from the schedule, with the final listed dates in May and June. Freetown’s last listed flight is June 6, 2026, while Ouagadougou service is reduced.
The Routes Removed Through March 2027
Some routes are listed as removed until March 27, 2027. These include Billund, Ferghana, Kirkuk, Leipzig/Halle, Najaf, and Turkistan. Billund and Leipzig/Halle show the last listed flights on May 1, 2026.
Ferghana shows a last listed flight on June 2, 2026, while Turkistan shows a last listed flight on May 30, 2026. Kirkuk’s planned June 3 return is canceled, and Najaf’s planned June to October seasonal return has been removed.
What About Iran Flights?
The wider disruption picture also includes Iran. Turkish Airlines’ own website currently states that some flights to and from Iran and the surrounding region have been canceled.
AeroRoutes also lists Esfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, and Tabriz as Iranian destinations that remain canceled at least until October 24, 2026.
It notes that Tehran is tentatively listed from June 1, 2026, but that detail should be checked directly before travel because airline schedules can change.
What Travelers Should Do Now
Anyone booked on one of these routes should check the booking directly with Turkish Airlines before making hotel, tour, or connection plans.
Turkish Airlines says flight dates and times can change, and flights may be canceled because of operational reasons or extraordinary situations at the departure or arrival point.
Its flight disruption guidance directs affected passengers to handle changes and refunds through the website, mobile app, sales offices, call center, or the agency used to buy the ticket.
The safest move is to confirm the exact flight status using the booking reference, not a third-party screenshot or social post.
For now, the confirmed story is clear enough: Turkish Airlines has filed a wider route pullback across parts of Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Caribbean, with several changes starting in May and June 2026.
